PENNY obtains the BREEAM certification with a world record score for the Filiași logistics center

Since February 2022, the PENNY logistics center in Filiași is the industrial building with the highest score at BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) International New Construction 2016. The result obtained is an exceptional Outstanding - 92.89%. As a result of an investment of 26 million euros, the warehouse now has many features that make it environmentally friendly.

The Romanian investment market recorded transactions of almost 900 million euros in 2021

The total value of real estate investments approached 900 million euros in Romania in 2021, more than a third of the traded amount being registered in the last three months of the year, according to Colliers Romania consultants.

Strategic investors were the most active buyers on the local mergers and acquisitions market (M&A) in 2021, with over 60% of the total number of transactions, followed by institutional and private investors (20%) and private equity firms (17%), according to a Deloitte Romania analysis.

The local logistics sector has not only shown resilience during the pandemic, but went on to benefit from consumer and business reactions to the sanitary crises. Thus, the leasing activity in 2021 has exceeded the 1 million sq. m threshold for the first time in the market’s history. Net take-up accounted for over 80% (802,000 sq. m) of the transacted volume and continues to be the main driver of the market, according to the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox real estate consultancy company.

Auchan opens its second logistics center in Romania

Auchan Retail inaugurates a new logistics center, the second in Romania, located in the northwest of the country, in Călan city, Hunedoara County. With a storage surface of 22,000 m2, the new warehouse accommodates both ambient and fresh products, as well as office spaces.
